Monitoring offline

Solar monitoring offline? Get your data — and your visibility — back.

When monitoring goes dark you can't see faults, verify production, or report to owners and incentive programs. OnForce Solar reconnects data loggers, gateways, and inverters so you know your system is working.

Commercial systems in New York, New Jersey & Connecticut. Servicing solar since 2008.

Signs your monitoring needs attention

What usually causes it

Network changes

New routers, firewalls, ISP switches, or IT changes that cut off the data logger.

Cellular modem issues

Expired SIM plans, 3G sunset, or weak signal in equipment rooms.

Failed gateway or logger

Power supply, SD card, or hardware failures in the communication device.

Inverter communication faults

Broken RS-485 or Ethernet links, wrong addresses, or outdated firmware.

How we get monitoring back

  1. 1Tell us your monitoring platform and when data stopped — we check remotely first.
  2. 2On site, we test power, network, cellular, and inverter communication links.
  3. 3We repair or replace loggers, modems, and cabling and update firmware.
  4. 4We confirm live data in the portal and set up alerts so you know if it drops again.

Common questions

Is my system still producing if monitoring is offline?

Often yes, but you can't know for sure. We recommend checking the inverters on site or having us confirm.

Do you work with my monitoring platform?

We work with AlsoEnergy, SolarEdge, Enphase, SMA, Locus, and other common commercial platforms.

Can you monitor the system for us going forward?

Yes — ongoing monitoring is included in our maintenance contracts.
